Craft and Tea monthly Event

Starting on September 26th and subsequently the last Wednesday in each month between 2 and 4pm the Fun Raisers are opening up the committee room/shop at the allotment site for tea, chat and craft activities (knitting, crochet, sewing, and any other handicraft activities you might like to suggest). Please come and join us for any or all of the above activities. Tea and biscuits (maybe cake) will be available as on a Sunday morning. Donations to local charities will be much appreciated. All welcome.

Please contact Helen (01252 328027) with any queries.

Sunday 28th October

Pumpkin Sunday.

This year the Funraisers are organising a new event, PUMPKIN SUNDAY. We hope as many plotholders and families as possible will come and take part. Please come along and support this event even if you do not want to take part in the competitions.

We are going to hold two competitions on Pumpkin Sunday:  One is for the LARGEST pumpkin, which must have been grown by the entrant. The other competition is for children.  This can either be a carved pumpkin or one showing a design, ready for carving.  Entries for both competitions should be ready for judging at 11.30am in the meeting room.

In addition to the usual Sunday Teas and coffees, served from 10am, homemade soups and rolls will be available from 12 o’clock.

On Sunday mornings we do not charge for refreshments and it is up to individuals to make a donation to our chosen charities if they wish.  This year our chosen charities are Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice and Chloe and Sophie’s Special Ears Fund.  (For details look under”News”).

During our centenary year (last year) we raised £1000 at our various events and from Sunday morning teas and coffees. This year because of our very successful plant sale (despite competition from a special wedding) we have already raised over £1300.  We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continuing support and generosity.
